Lots of issues with the upcoming Star Trek series Discovery....I've heard of issues coming from inside the production (I have friends in the TV world here in Toronto where it was filmed), it was called a "hot potato" at one point. I'm going to wait and see, but the trailers with the random fan service of Mudd and others being tossed in, just doesn't seem like anything I've been looking forward to in Star Trek.

tl;dr it's most likely going to be a shit show. storyline is supposed to be a new reboot, different timeline from both original series' and jj abrams. really convoluted backstory for the main character. lots of SJW themes in the protagonists and the antagonists.
but really, this cuold all be rumors, will have to wait and see what finally comes out to make a judgement.
