I dont think another lifeform would ever be able to reach us. Sure, there probably is other life out there, most likely there is, more liekly than not. But to be around right at the right time as we are, to be close enought to get our signs of life here, and to be able to respond, doubt it very much so. Maybe if we were closer to the center of the galaxy, maybe we would be close enough, but we are too far away. Oh but what if there is some laws of physics we havent discovered yet that allows for faster travel! Doubt that also. It is nice to dream though. Maybe in 20-30 thousand years we might get a response, but we may not last long enough. We are just walking talking monkeys flying through space on an organic spaceship.
