The Historic Moment!? Russia Starts First Deliveries of Gas to China via Power of Siberia Pipeline

53 years after the Sino-Soviet split, the Russian Federation and People's Republic of China are once again close strategic partners. Work on this new pipeline, dubbed "Power of Siberia", began in 2014. Total sales through the pipeline will represent nearly 10% of China's entire gas supply by 2022. It will deliver 38 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually by 2024 & be operated by Gazprom.

Last week construction on the 1st ever bridge between the 2 countries was completed & it's set to open in early 2020.

Russia is a significant player in the BRI which is set to enhance Eurasian integration. Pumping oil/gas down into China where it can be distributed to SEAsia will help counter the US-led economic sanctions imposed on Russia since 2014.

I'm not at all a hater or Russia or China, but I have to say they aren't exactly friends of the west, and the current trend is they are focused on building up their power and it's probably not unreasonable to think it will end in a large conflict once they are ready.
