The deputy attorney general, Rod J. Rosenstein, suggested last year that he secretly record President Trump in the White House to expose the chaos consuming the administration, and he discussed recruiting cabinet members to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Mr. Trump from office for being unfit.
Mr. Rosenstein disputed this account...
“The New York Times’s story is inaccurate and factually incorrect,” he said in a statement. “I will not further comment on a story based on anonymous sources who are obviously biased against the department and are advancing their own personal agenda. But let me be clear about this: Based on my personal dealings with the president, there is no basis to invoke the 25th Amendment.”
But according to the others who described his comments, Mr. Rosenstein not only confirmed that he was serious about the idea but also followed up by suggesting that other F.B.I. officials who were interviewing to be the bureau’s director could also secretly record Mr. Trump.

Interesting stuff. If the people reporting it was sarcasm are accurate, then it could actually have been Rosenstein pushing back on or mocking a push by McCabe to get something on Trump to remove him from office. Either way someone in that room was pushing for a little deep state magic to put the kibosh on big orange. Like with UFOs, the acknowledgement that the deep state exists will be met with a "Meh, color me not surprised - can't wait for GoT season 8!!"
Anyway this story looks like the NY Times trying to provoke a fatal outburst from Trump ahead of these mid-terms.

I hope Rosenstein gets fired. He's been central in cooking up this Russiagate hoax from day 1.
More than 1 (unnamed) person reported him offering to wear a wire & he hasn't denied it. He made a general statement that the article is "factually incorrect" and something about his "personal dealings" with Trump being insufficient to invoke the 25th Ammendment. Neither statement means much at all.
When you look at the bigger picture it seems pretty obvious he had a vendetta against the president. His wife is an associate of Hillary so maybe he's with Her.
