I've spoken to quite a lot of very intelligent people who support trump. I'm not from the US so I try to keep an objective viewpoint of all thats going on, reading all sources of media and hearing all voices equally. I object when I think something is wrong, when something looks like a good idea on the short term but might play out bad on the long term, but I've also heard a lot of very convincing and concrete opinions with a lot of backing up information that to me seem to indicate that Trump is: 1-actually a smart person & knows what he is doing, 2-won probably because people hated the idea of seeing Hillary continue with socialist lawmaking, 3-people are fed up of feeding ignorant bums who don't want to work and want to be fed and given free healthcare by the state. You might argue that a lot of people don't have the money that they used to have and they are blaming wall street and the rich 1%, but actually its overseas cheap labour and the fact that most educated americans don't want to do basic jobs that is tanking american economy, so if you think about it, it kinda makes sense that Trump is now talking of impor tariffs, although I'm not totally convinced about how thats going to play out mid & long term.
I am also convinced that most people who criticize the government are hypocrites. If you know about a problem and are doing nothing to fix it, you're part of the problem too. You either get into politics, or shut the fuck up about it, because voting is literally the only thing you are doing about anything right now, and chances are you're not even doing that. And before you say some dumbass thing like "I wasn't born priviliged so I can't go into politics" you should know that you can still attend your local council meetings, propose ideas, gather a group of like minded people and run for local positions, all with absolutely no resources other than your capacity to see the world and its problems and come up with smart solutions.
