My Bro at War Full Movie

Hyena Road - OFFICIAL TRAILER

Movie suffers from some standard issues associated with Canadian films. For example at certain points the casual talk among soldiers at rest sounds a bit too much like Corner Gas. But my brother reports that this movie accurately depicts the experience of Canadian special forces in Aghganistan. Some of the sniper craft is a bit off but my bro says only a trained sniper will notice. Otherwise he said the firefights and procedures are accurately depicted.

If you want to see a movie about how Canadian soldiers fight over there, this would be it. I have the full move below and you can also load it up on Netflix.

I've seen it a while ago. It's a decent watch. It's far from being perfect but you can still see efforts to make it true to reality.

One thing that bothers me in the first act is that the sniper team is being attacked and overrun and yet they don't call for assistance from those Coyotes that are waiting in the vicinity even though they clearly have comms with them.

Other than that, a funny thing I've noticed: at 1:38:02 the actor playing the ANA soldier in the back of the pickup is clearly just barely holding in place a .50 cal machinegun that was laid on its side on the top of the pickup's cab without any kind of proper mount for it. You can see he's trying to decide whether he should leave it like that or turn it so it's at least upright. And the camera is zoomed in on him the entire time which is funny.

Yes if you watch closely at the background during intense firefight scenes you begin to see the same "locals" in the background at various points in the film. Some of the "extras" acting is poor - but this is pretty good for a purely Canadian production. It surprised me I expected it to be embarrassing.

Just watched it, skipping the love story bits. It was meh, not bad. Production isn't super high but the action scenes are suspensful enough. Final scene is far-fetched but decent.

There's a decent quality version here, mp4 source here

Best Afghanistan war movie I've seen is The 9th Company (Soviet era). Best American one is War Machine.
