"are we sending trainers in there"

what a nong, NATO's had thousands of trainers in there for years. It was 8.5k in early Feb.

I didn't watch beyond that point (2:30)

regardless of what weapons NATO sends in, Russia will just crank up the heat as required.

this undercover Democratic Party influencer says sending in better gear can turn the tide. Yeah right. All it does is increase the firepower Russia will use to seal the deal. Since no NATO presence is there formally, Russia can hit the de facto NATO bases as needed - we're already seeing them starting to take potshots.

Mariupol's about to collapse & the Donbass pocket's closing in. Kharkiv seems to be still holding out but otherwise most of the East is done.

Interesting point of view... I'm a bit of a noob on the whole situation over there - what's your view on why Russia haven't "turned up the heat" already? I would have thought Putin would have wanted to finish of his objectives there ASAP such that if he has the capability to turn up the heat "shock and awe" style, he would've done that rather than drag on a war that a lot of the world is outraged at him for.

because they don't want to smash Ukraine any more than they have to - they want a political outcome, not an occupation. They need an intact regime to sign a neutrality deal with & they don't want an unstable neighbour causing trouble in their periphery. There's also cultural concerns about devastating a fellow slavic nation. Despite what some media might say this isn't total war.

if they did such a "shock & awe" campaign they'd get similar result to Iraq - a failed state with no security or political class to run things. They'd inherit a problem that their weapons contractors would love but it would be a dumb move.
