This is a series of weekly videos meant to show silly interactions in the game Dota 2 so a lot of this video will be gibberish if you don't know the heroes and the game. However, I would like to direct your attention to 7:23 of this video, which showcases an Io rampage. If you know about the game Dota 2 then you will understand how crazy it is to even hear of Io getting a rampage, so enjoy this cool little video.
If you are unfamiliar with Dota 2 I'm going to pimp it out right now. Dota 2 is the best MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) game in existence and it's 100% free through Steam. And I don't mean like free as in you can play a few matches and pay unlock blah blah blah...no, I mean that I have a friend who has been playing for 3 years and hasn't paid a nickel and has access to every game type and every hero. Matches usually last anywhere as low as 20 minutes to as long as an hour and the game is played 5 live players vs. 5 live players with every player choosing a unique hero with the goal of destroying the enemy team's main base. If you're familiar with League of Legends and Heroes of the Storm then you are already familiar with the derivatives of Dota (because Dota came way before both of them) but you should be aware that Dota is a much harder game than both of those two games...casuals will not have a good time.
In this video at 7:23 we get to see Io, also known as Wisp, who is one of the hardest to play heroes in the game. Io has quite a few abilities but here are the especially relevant ones: Spirits are the spinning balls that come out and revolve around Io, which the player can control how close or far away they revolve and they explode upon contact with an enemy hero; Overcharge allows Io to attack faster and take less incoming damage but all at the cost of a steady loss of his own life; and Relocate is Io's ultimate, which allows him to teleport to anywhere on the map but he teleports back to his starting location within 12 seconds of casting this ability. This player wisely chose to build the item known as "Urn of Shadows", which places a damage over time (DoT) on an enemy or it can be cast upon yourself to give you a heal over time (HoT). Certainly in this video the other members on Io's team are helping damage the enemies, but it this player's eye for when to utilize his skills and items that lets him triumph in the rampage (which is when a single player kills 5 or more enemy players, which is not an easy task).
If you liked this video go play Dota and get wrecked.
