HK - Which Side Are You On?

danmanjones's picture

英勇市民以一擋百,反擊過百黑衣暴徒瘋狂攻擊,大獲全勝

If you support one side or the other, tell us now which side you're on if you have the nads.

I support the police & regular citizens like the guy in this clip who want the mob bullshit to end, just in case there was any doubt.

I believe you are talking about two different things though. The What and the How. Yes, there is the topic of having/maintaining rights and freedoms but the other part is HOW to go about fighting for what you beleive in or in China's case enforcing what they beleive in. I don't believe this second topic has been figured by either side and both sides are testing and pushing the boundaries. The people are pushing the boundaries on how to get what they want while China is learning how to not exert too much control (ie. Tiananmen square).

From what I have seen the mob bullshit is pretty horrible but what else can they do to win? There is no democratic process.

Also from China's government side, what if they came in much more heavy handed and just started shooting people and doing mass arrests. This could actually lead to a underground terrorist movement, which could spill over into the mainland.

Do you realise that Hong Kong basically rules itself and the Chinese central government has played no role in the unrest besides calling for restoration of law & order?

Because the way you and many others tend to frame it is some kind of power struggle with Beijing. This is a complete distortion of the facts. A power struggle with the central govt is merely a goal of those who seek independence for hk - something that has zero chance of happening.

If you believe that the chance of *some* form of independence is not possible then yes it makes sense that the mobs should stop resisting. But I don't believe the mobs agree with you. :)

The way you frame things shows a total lack of awareness of the reality. There is no way the prc will be giving up any sovereignty over hk.

Pushing for certain reforms in hk is one thing but aiming for independence & using illegal methods to get there is beyond the pale and destined to failure. Absolute zero chance of success.

I support the "regular" people protesting the government and China. Any protest or strike IS SUPPOSSED TO DISRUPT by its very nature. I dont care if THINGS get broken, that just shows me that these people are pissed off enough about the situation to commit these acts and I support them in their efforts. Any protest for the betterment of society is a worthy protest. I dont see any protests for the expansion of government or for more laws, NO its always in reaction to governmental overreach and abuse. I support any and all protest events. People should be and need to be more active in protests and strikes.

Do you support the people in the streets attacking this guy or not?

And how about the "journalist" who stopped the fighting as soon as he was winning?

To make it simple: if you were in that street which side would you be on?

As I've said before, you cannot and should not engage with protestors or go to a protest, strike or rally that you do not agree with and and expect anything less then what this man received. If he doesnt agree then he needs to form his own protest or anti-protest. How is this any different then if a liberal left-wing radical went into a Trump rally and started arguing his points or vise versa. The protestors are cemented in their opinions and forming a mob, why do you think it would be ok to start arguing with them like he did? I absolutely agree with the protestors. I dont really care the guy got beat up a little bit, sacrifices need to be made and blood shed in the name of progress when standing up to governments. So just becuase one man stands up to and disagrees with hundreds and thousands of people you think everyone should agree with him and go home becuase he got beat up. Is that what you're saying here?

At least you have the balls to state clearly where you stand.

I absolutely don't agree with you that in a developed liberal society like hk that voicing a political opinion anywhere is justification to be physically attacked but kudos for dying on this hill stokkebye.

So far nobody else stands with this dude or the cops who saved him from the terries. Not just on this post but on any of them.

I wonder how many spikers who currently support the "pro-democracy protesters" in Hong Kong previously supported the "pro-democracy forces" in Syria. More than are willing to admit it, that's for sure.

Well, maybe he was wrong, just like you. You ever think about that? If hundreds or thousands of people dont agree with you or say you are wrong, maybe you are.

Hundreds of thousands of people don't have time or motivation to figure out wtf is going on. Just like when they were telling me I'm mental for calling out the russiagate hoax & the proxy war In Syria. Its the same shit. The info debunking the retarded western narrative exists if you can be bothered looking.

This clip speaks to the cowardice of the mobs in hk. If you can't condemn this behaviour I dunno what to tell you.

A train was derailed in hk the other day and evidence is emerging that hk extremists may have been behind it. Sooner or later the 'hundreds of thousands of people' are likely going to stfu and quietly switch sides.

Its not the same, apples to oranges, no one is out in the streets over russia gate because most people knew it was bullshit, some with the wait and see and others just wanted it to be true. The sparks that cause mass protest events may be bullshit but thats not what gets people riled up and marching in the streets, its the overall bullshit they deal with and things that are fucked up on a larger scale. I dont pay attention to lamestream media and im not subjected to it, I dont have cable, havent had it in about 20 years now. I understand the effects of propaganda and what the legacy media can do to people but these people are not being subjected to "western media propaganda" like you say. They are pissed off and out in the streets for whatever reasons they have. I dont know what those reasons are as Im not really paying that much attention to it but I do know that if hundreds of thousands of people are marching in the street it has to be for a damn good reason. I've been a part of numerous protests here in the USA and I've sen it all to a few yuppies holding signs with a permit to protest and get ignored by everyone to protests burning shit down and fighting cops, thats what gets attention and thats how you get shit shit to change. You really think anything will change if they peacefully held signs for a day and then went home? Fuck no, if you want change you fuck shit up. I dont care about that train derailment or breaking some terminals or a few dumbasses getting beat up when they challenge a mob. If you want change like the scale they want they need to shut the whole fucking city down and dont take no shit from anyone. How do you think the USA became the USA? By holding signs and asking very nicely to be an independent nation? No they took up arms and didnt take no shit and fucked shit up. Thats how you do it. Youre not even Chinese, what the fuck is your skin in the game? I've been wondering that and reading your shit to find out and all I can see is that you work and travel there and these protests are an inconvenience to you, am I wrong? Leave them the fuck alone and let them work shit out for themselves.

The only practical skin I have in the game is inconvenience like you say but that's not why I formed my views on the topic. It seems like you support anarchy wherever it is based on some loose association with the US revolution. I appreciate your honesty & respect that you're the only spiker with the nads to take a solid stand.

China needs to start treating these "Terries" just like they treat the Uyghurs. Problem solved.

You seem incapable of addressing the issue being discussed and instead consistently attempt to use smear tactics to prove some abstract point.

Chalk another one up for no nads.

The guy seems drunk.

So... the equivilent of a Drunk Redneck, going back into an Antifa mob after they already gave him the boot (for most likely instigating in the first place).

I doubt he's drunk but it's possible. I'd sy he's at least in a mild form of shock based on the wound on the back of his head & the situation he's in - it's pretty dangerous being surrounded by a mob like that.

We don't know how it started but to make the assumption that he started the violence is going a bit far. The clip shows him mildly antagonising people non-violently and being attacked with violence, from behind & with weapons.

I think your reaction is another case of no nads.

So far only stokkebye was willing to make a real stand on this issue.

One of those videos I imagine thats what it must be like If I were to get attacked by a bunch of 6th graders or a bunch of little girls. The second one was pretty brutal. I dont believe in beating anyone that cant defend themselves. If someone is knocked out, thats it leave em alone. Thats a lot of blood coming form his head.
