I kind of wonder if a wholesome person has ever anti-apologized after being accused of being homophobic or transphobic by just saying, "yeah, I can't really wrap my head around it. I don't mean them any ill will, but I don't really get transgendered people's mindsets because it's not applicable to my life at all." And I'm not talking about a garbage person like Owen Benjamin or Ben Shapiro, but someone who has actual values. It seems that would make sense and be acceptable since the Outrage Culture narrative includes that one can't speak *FOR* other people.
For example, as a white dude I shouldn't talk about the problems of black people as though I fully understand them...which is true; I have a general idea of the shit black people have to deal with but if someone were to tell me, "you don't know shit about what black people go through" they'd be absolutely right. So wouldn't it stand to reason that someone could respond by saying, "I can never understand their struggle, but do you actually believe that I wish harm or death upon them with my joke?"

The upset people are transgender activists, not necessarily transgender people per say. And Ben Shapiro is a garbage person with no values? Not even garbage values? You're right about Ethan Klein being wholesome.
But are we not allowed to joke about cutting our dicks off anymore? Are we still allowed to joke about our dicks? Are the transgender people offended because the subset who do the "the cutting off of the dick" part are traumatized by that and so any mention of it in any context is insensitive to any transpeople who may be watching and listening. Can we just define exactly what the offense is actually OVER before we critique Ethan's apology.
And Owen's not a garbage person either. There are hardly any garbage people - almost none. Only one actually. She and Negan worked out a deal after he convinced her it wasn't his idea to murder her clan and...no wait that's something else entirely.

Ethan used the word nigger over and over in one of his podcasts with iDubbbz to the point that it made iDubbbz uncomfortable. Then he later went and chastized PewDiePie for using it once in his time of crisis and urged anyone who didn't get down with the hypocrisy he was spewing to unsubscribe. There used to be a great video that compiled this flow of events into some real concise clips, but I guess he filed a takedown on it, because the link no longer works (the truth hurts).
I guess what I'm saying is I don't care about his "that's just life" or please understand me bullshit. Live by the sword, die by the sword. I hope they eat him alive.
Ethan is funny & all but he's kind of a prostitute with obvious agenda of just being as big as possible. He'd throw PewdiePie under a bus in a heartbeat if he thought it would help him IMO.
