couple of points to note:
- last time China got their hands on US stealth jet wreckage the yanks bombed their embassy, killing Chinese diplomats but not eliminating the prized wreckage
- China's foreign ministry has said they're uninterested in recovering the F-35C ... not sure if we can take their word on that tbh
