Astroturfing is truly one of the sleazy scams. I'm not a big fan of John Oliver but bringing this sham into the light to any degree is a good thing.
Organizations can hire fake advocates who create the illusion of real support for their message. It’s a shady practice called astroturfing that can warp the public perception of anything...even astroturfing.

Had to watch it offline.... yaeh he's still in that camp where he gives PSA-styled delivery of Trump being literal Hitler or hw dangerous conspiracy theorists are. Such a shame what happened to American late-night shows.
