what it's actually like is the teacher doing a powerpoint to a screenfull of black silent squares. nobody uses the camera or microphone and most of them aren't even there at their keyboard.

It's hilarious that colleges are actually still trying to charge full price for classes and all without massive endowments are refusing to return any money. My neighbor who is a professor at a local University told me that administrators are openly joking about how they have people who have already completed any amount hooked and those people have little choice but to pay in and finish their time. She thought the video was funny and said that professors were terrible at these "Zoom debacles" as she called called them and students were totally rejecting the method-turning them into jokes just like this.

i thought that too until i looked into it. the fees they charge aren't monthly, they're yearly, which is why universities that charge by the month still take fees during holidays - because it's not a fee for the month but rather a fee for the year divided into 12 installments. because of the covid problems pretty much all universities have altered their schedules, meaning they'll have shorter holidays to make up for the lost classes now, so all students will still get the same amount of tuition, some even more because they're not counting the online classes as curriculum but extra lessons. maybe some for-profit universities are cheating their students but that's nothing new.

It just seems like what you are getting for your money is a joke and a lot of for-profit institutions are pretty big on the profit thing. There are a ton of class action lawsuits going on around here and all over the place so lawyers are busy anyway.
