Is Dark Matter Dying?

No comments? This is all mainstream science news - no one is interested in the fact that half the shit mainstream science made up to explain the universe doesn't actually exist? Will Rick Sanchez address this development? What are they going to do with all of those Discovery channel documentaries about the nature of the cosmos now?

The guy in that channel is a conspiracy theorist and climate change denier, some of the shit he propagates on that channel is downright fucking stupid. Back in 2011 I subbed to his channel for his daily weather updates which were interesting, but after watching for enough time it became clear he is a drama queen always saying "something big" was coming and making dubious claims and predictions quite regularly. I would take everything in this video with a grain of salt unless you actually go out of your way to research it yourself independently.

Dark matter and dark energy were only theories to begin with, a way to explain something that we cannot explain, they have never been seen, measured or proven to exist. The new discoveries are interesting but as is usually the case they have only lead to more questions. I read that this new discovery still doesn't explain things like lensing aswell so the jury is still out right now and there isn't much to discuss. Interesting nonetheless.

When he presents an interesting scientific paper or finding, he posts the paper he's citing. I've read a few of them. I don't know what he was like 6 years ago but my impression is that things have matured since then. That said, he is among a group of folks who believe that models of the universe that jive well with quantum mechanics should be seriously investigated and worked with in addition to relativistic models. So yeah he's going to jump on any developments that appear to confirm the problems with relativistic interpretations of space-time.

My beef is the same as always - the general populace has been told in countless documentaries that dark matter and energy are mysterious elements of the universe that we have yet to fully understand rather than saying they were things cosmologists invented to make their relativistic equations work right.

What I may never get used to is how some people (not you) who have invested all of their security in a misguided belief that science offers certainty react with such venom (like when a Bible thumper is told Earth is not 6000 years old) - angry spittle flying, teeth gnashing, the fear, the anger, the urge to lash out and condemn. I'm more certain than ever that the problem of ideological possession has little if anything to do with theism. How do we get to a place where folks can be psychologically sound, and secure, without needing the certainty of a thoughtless dogma to maintain their own integrity? That's the dream.

Oh and one more thing - everyone is a conspiracy theorist these days. Just switch on any major news network.
