Jim Crow laws were state and local laws that enforced racial segregation in the Southern United States. Enacted by white Democratic-dominated state legislatures in the late 19th century after the Reconstruction period, these laws continued to be enforced until 1965.

I'm really glad there are museums for this ugly part of US History.  Let's all hope the left never gains absolute power and destroys it all like ISIS did when it took over the Mosul Museum.

"The Left"?  Jim Crow-Dixiecrats were conservative, bro.  You know how conservatives are all about tradition?  They're not about progressive ideals such as allowing The Negro to be their equal...that's more of a progressive and liberal thing.  Funny how your "THE DEMOCRATS STARTED THE KKK" and like-minded arguments always end around 1955.  Do you want to tell me how Republicans remained extremely progressive and liberal and embraced gay and trans rights?  Nah, then your shit show would be exposed for the bullshit it is.

Don't be an idiot and fall for the "Republican always means conservative and Democrat always means liberal" bullshit.

---

That's a nice trick you did there Mr. Fudd.  You took my use of "the left" and just assumed I consider Jim Crow era Democrats were leftist.  They were not.  Very dishonest but par for the course when it comes to debating you.

---

You know how conservatives are all about tradition?

---

No, I don't know that, because it's not true.  Some conservatives may make weak appeals to tradition but that doesn't negate the existance of other more well grounded reasoning for a given position.  And let's not pretend that so-called "liberals" never appeal to tradition like when they argue against screening and controlling the number of immigratns coming to the US by pointing at a fucking statue and telling us about this made-up "tradition" of just letting in every poor person from around the world.
---
They're not about progressive ideals such as allowing The Negro to be their equal...that's more of a progressive and liberal thing.
---
Liberal, yes.  Progressive, that depends.  Progressive is one of those marketing terms invented in the 1920's that leftist use to brand their ideas as NEW and BETTER when they are anything but.  The idea of abolishing slavey was not a new idea, though it was certainly better than keeping it.  So let's not mix the two.
---
The Democrats did not want to accept blacks as their equal just as they do not accept blacks as their equal today.  Shocking I know, but modern leftist white Democrats like yourself still do not accept blacks as your equal.  If they were your equal you would not constantly infantalize black people and pretend they somehow need you, the noble white man, to come to their defense and protect them from fantom KKK members hiding in the bushes waiting to lynch them.
---
So no, the arguments did not end around 1955.  The Democrats just changed tacticts from oppressing blacks to expoiting blacks to obtain and maintain power.  The Democrats couldn't give a flying rats ass about black people beyond every election when they race bait and scream about how Republicans are racist to get their votes.
---
Do you want to tell me how Republicans remained extremely progressive and liberal and embraced gay and trans rights?

---
First off, the Democrats didn't embrace "gay and trans rights" until five minutes ago when they realized it could be used as a wedge issue.  Obama and Hillary were both on record saying they were against gay marriage.

---

Second off, being gay is not the same as bring trans.  One is a sexual preference and the other is a mental disorder.  Gay people are free to be gay.  Trans people are free to deal with their mental illness how they like.  What you mislable "trans rights" are not "rights" at all.  A trans person does not have the "right" to force me to pretend they are the gender they are not.
---
Don't be an idiot and fall for the "Republican always means conservative and Democrat always means liberal" bullshit.
---
I never claimed any of that.

Most of your post is politicized bullshit ("If they were your equal you would not constantly blah blah blah").  But let's take note of your straight up false narrative:

"First off, the Democrats didn't embrace "gay and trans rights" until five minutes ago when they realized it could be used as a wedge issue.  Obama and Hillary were both on record saying they were against gay marriage."

Let's get down to the nitty-gritty: Republicans were and still are in favor of gay marriage, right?  We'll all await your answer.
