Trump's Tariffs are working - Apple to hire 20,000 employees in USA

Apple plans to hire around 20,000 employees across the U.S. over the next 5 years

Apple Inc., as it seeks relief from US President Donald Trump’s tariffs on goods imported from China, said that it will hire 20,000 new workers and produce AI servers in the US. The company said Monday that it plans to spend $500 billion domestically over the next four years, which will include work on a new server manufacturing facility in Houston, a supplier academy in Michigan and additional spending with its existing suppliers in the country. The disclosure comes days after Trump and Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook met in the Oval Office. “He’s investing hundreds of billions of dollars,” Trump said after the meeting last week. He implied that the iPhone maker is investing locally because it does not want to pay tariffs. Trump has threatened an additional 10% tax on items imported from China, where Apple builds the vast majority of iPhones and other products. But he has traded investment in the US for relief in the past.

Ai servers and 1200 dollar phones are products for ppl who have money.

But consumer prices have doubled. 5 bucks for 12 eggs :) Yeah it is working, we are getting AI which is completely useless other then making memes and doing kids homework.

And you can buy a phone with same features for 200 bucks, many ppl don't know but you only need 1200 dollar processing power if you are running very heavy games on the phone, just whatsapp and facebook? 200 bucks is more then enough.

I don't get it.

China is way behind AI chip manufacturing. They weren't going to buy anything from China anyway.

I believe iphones are assembled in China so I guess Trump will make an exception for Apple because they are investing so much in USA for something else.

I can invest in bringing dirty water to the sea but how is that an investment, they were probably going to do that anyway.

And the richest get a tax cut, while the hard working man pays 5 bucks for a box of eggs
