Great show so far for me too.

If I was to nitpick it though I'd say they should have made better use of military advisors (if they had any) because it badly shows that they haven't in some scenes. Also there are fight scenes where they abuse that throaty grunt he makes so much that it reaches the point of ridicule.

But if you overlook these it's kinda good

I imagine season 2 is going to get a bigger budget.  I kind of like Jon's cavemanesque portrayal of Castle. When he gets hurt. He acts FUCKING hurt. When he drones on about his trauma. It's presented in a very relateable and believable way.

I love how on the one hand he doesn't have any patience for bullshit, yet when he is out punishing his emotional and psychological intelligence really shines in negotiation, threats, taunts, and having a better answer to the arguements presented to him.

They also present his nurturing side as well. Showing that underneath a hurting vicious killer, there is a heart of gold for the good, the brave, and the innocent.

The show is full of easter eggs for PUNISHER fans as well.

The battle van is slowly and subtly being pimped out.

They did the comic story arch of the copy cat killer in a fresh way that is relevant to our cultural and politcal environment. Through the PTSD stricken Veteran.

Big names to the franchise are being dropped such as the Gnucci's and Jigsaw.

I like also how they changed Jigsaw's background so he will be a formidable villain in the future.

The show is not perfect. However I can see the writers are putting SERIOUS effort into making this work. Which was always left to the wayside with the other 3 films. You can tell everyone working on this project really respects this hero and his story.

I give it a 4.8 out of 5 so far. And definately the best interpetation yet.

I still like Ray Stevenson as the Punisher just slightly more simply because he could convey more presence and gravitoss while saying and doing less. Though his film was the worst film.

TLDR Version.

Thug: "Please don't kill me! I have a family!"

Punisher: "I don't..."

oh come on, a full strength gravity-assisted blow to the middle of the back with a sledgehammer and he's still crawling? was thinking of trying this series, but this is just ridiculous.
