Why you should NEVER believe Elon Musk!

Longwinded summary of Musk's promises (a lot) and subsequent achievements (not a lot).

Looking forward to the afficionados' comments.

At this point I think Musk is just mocking as many people as he can.

Oh and these things will get stolen and reprogrammed to rob banks as soon as they can drive cars or fly or run or have wheels.

Soon?  No. Eventually, yes.  Doesn't have to be a teslabot, though.

Would love to watch and refute this guy but I can't do it. Made it 6 minutes. He's so negative. I won't disagree that Elon's all over the place though and it's possibly hurting TSLA stock. But I expect most of the stock drop is for much more practical reasons though, like missing deliveries (even if a hair), overall market is down, Musk having to cash in more of stock to pay for Twitter. No normal financial analysts would have the bots revenue priced into the stock price.

As for the bots, it will really be interesting to see the progression of the software but it's going to take some time... a long time before it's really impressive. One thing is for sure, they have the $$$ to make it happen.

You are right, the laughable bots are of course not responsible for the stock market, probably people finally see that he promises a lot and keeps very little, like:
electric truck
electric pickup
both of the former with bulletproof glass (which is not really desireable in the first place
solar roof tiles
tunnel boring
hyperloop

And of course the twitter bullshit.

I am not sure why you separate the truck and pickup. He's only ever show the Cybertruk. Is there something else?

And yeah, I have to agree the hype around some of his stuff and the reality aren't always aligned. Honestly, all the stuff you mentioned (except for the Cybertruk) should be considered innovative areas. Some will succeed, some will fail and some may just take a lot longer or change - and that's ok. But to pitch it and sell it as here tomorrow, yeah that's setting false expectations.

For what it's worth, not sure how much it matters. It's good to sell the vision, part of his magic is painting a grand picture, even if he doesn't have all the answers, it gives something for people to look forward too. And possibly set an expectation. People take a long time to adjust to new ideas (I mean the masses not early adopters) so perhaps this also helps society move along.

Nope, all the things I mentioned were promoted as either ready for use or almost (within a year) ready for use. And that was back in 2016-2019!

The truck:

This is not "selling a vision" it is creating a hype to keep the stock unreasonably high. Unfortunately his "afficionados" don't seem to care.

Oh you mean the semi is the truck.

I think his 'afficionados' are starting to care. I am in a few Tesla groups and people have definitly switching from expecting to waiting...
