WATCH LIVE: Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis delivers address to joint session of Congress

Hi all. Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis addressed a joint session of US congress today. I'm linking the video from his concluding remarks (@46:50) where he gives a stern warning about the vulnerability of Democracy and the role the free world still needs to play.  He discusses income inequality and the heavy price ingnoring growing disparity can cost. But, refreshingly, he also refers to countries being allowed to enjoy the dynamism of their own economies (i.e. it's all about balance, people).  And there's a beautiful analogy to our living in a modern-day tower of babel, speaking our own languages due to our siloed on-line existences.  He got 6+ standing O's if you want to see it from the start; some 16minutes in and timestamped here: https://youtu.be/qwiMegh3vro?t=1013.  I'm honored if you do. Either way, hope you like this shorter clip also!

[p.s. Nancy Pelosi (you had one job!) introduces him as Militakis.. Freudian slip cause, she wants to sell him more F-35s I guess.]

This guy knows how to work a room! Quite an eloquent speaker actually, I am fairly impressed. The correlattions he draws between greek culture and how it influenced western ideology are interesting.

Thanks Tim. I think he did well. I had trouble getting the darn video to start where I wanted, so I added the 2 timestamps above. I liked his warnings too. Conciliatory, hopeful, but let's all keep our eyes and minds open too. I appreciate you watching it. (And see if you can vote a few stars up on the board if you have a moment, yeah?). Cheers.

25Jun2023: He got swarn in for a second term today.  Majority government no less. 158 seats out of 300 (yeah...300, for Sparta! ;-).  Hopefully he keeps the momentum and pulls little Greece a little further out of the shitter. Good luck to him.
