Guerilla tactics are brutal but effective, very hard to stop, taking out a few APC's and supply trucks with IED's is way different than what we are seeing in Ukraine. Running out of fuel, abandoned for lack of maintenance, combined with high tech weaponry taking out tanks and heli's is not what we saw in the middle east. The middle eastern fighters were using Russian and Chinese weapons and they were not effective against major war machines. Paper Tiger!
