Yeah, cops jobs would be simpler with a gun in their face at any time or place. Cops outnumber the public, right? How many cops would love going home knowing they could be ambushed while opening their front doors? Or do they all live in military like bases outside of communities? Sure, a few cops are prior military, but so are the protestors. There are a lot of cool stories that got buried in history of WW1 and WW2 vets blowing up police stations and what not. WW1 vets set up encampments on the white house lawn for like 2 years. Thats why the govt has programs to "help" them, make sure they dont rise up. WW2 vets in a small town blew up a police station and took cops hostage in order to obtain a ballot box that was stuffed with phony votes and the police were hiding them at their station. Im not sure if any cops died but they did get shot, no one was charged either. LOL

do u mean the Bonus Army?

I don't buy into this idea of individuals with guns have any kind of leverage agaisnt the govt. It's a false sense of security IMO. Groups of people with guns could cause change but it never happens & never will in US given the US's hardcore individualistic culture & the [police] state's ability to nip things in the bud.

Just like how the govt can "chill" people's rights so can the people! The govt is an idea but it is run by people, people that have homes and families. How well do you think it would go if a politician calls for protestors to be gunned down? Those pols and people in positions of the govt would be thinking twice before using a heavy handed tactic on well armed people.

about a thousand Americans are killed by police each year - how many times have those who gave orders to kill them been held accountable by vigilantes with gunz?

I only know of Christopher Dorner but he was pissed about losing his job or something.

Dorner made complaints about racist superiors and got fired, so he went after them. Most of the people cops kill are mentally ill or street criminals, and domestic calls. Completely different then killing protestors. People that are disenfranchised or feel they are not being heard usually have it in them to follow through with the change they want, and if they feel suppressed and being subjected to violence, well, that is a lot different then some street thug or a someone having a mental breakdown. Most of the time when people are well fed and entertained they dont usually revolt. But then again we are venturing into some unchartered territories here. There is a deep fractured divide amongst people and suppression going on. A few sparks could light the bonfire.

didn't a bunch of chest thumping civilians get killed last year in early january at a protest?

one chick was shot point blank, unarmed, no threat at all.

those were exactly the kind of gun-huggers you'd expect to start some shit if they weren't full of it.

no disrespect but I think it's a meme. It's a concept where you're guarding yourself from tyranny by sitting in your home by yourself with your gun pointed out the window. That's not how things work. Without collectivism & brave sacrafice there's no standing up to the govt. Sorry bro.

I think the closest you guys have gotten since the civil war was Black Panthers & they were p much commies. You ever wonder why commies are so demonized & gaslit there?

That was either allowed to happen or they didnt think it would happen, either way, what happened on Jan 6 is not the same as a prolonged protest that gets subjected to violence to end it. I'd say the last event that was similar was Standing Rock 6 years ago. There was a prolonged protest, subjected to violence that was pretty close to an armed conflict, but even then it was still a very small group of the public that supported it and was very localized. The Freedom convoys is not localized and has a huge amount of the public backing it and is bi-partisan, has a few ingredients needed. Even the Black Panthers was a fringe group of a small group of minorities that did not have the backing of the public. Black people made up like %10 of the pop back then.

What you think is a meme is a silent army. People waiting, people well armed and well trained, waiting for the shit to hit the fan. You have not heard from them yet. If the govt starts shooting protestors at the freedom convoys, that silent army will come out.

An old guy shot a couple of burglars in his home near me and he got charged because the handgun was not registered as it was his fathers he got after his dad passed away, I raised $30k in a matter of weeks for the old dude and I got hundreds of emails from donors that were from District attorneys, military, Leo's, active and in-active. Thing was they were against the law in that if their wives used their guns to shoot an intruder that same charge could be used on them. If the govt really starts cracking down like we are talking about, I guarantee their would be insurrections within the police and military.

revolts within or by the armed forces (incl cops) are your only hope the way I see it, possibly local to counties or possibly states. Then maybe your silent army may have something to unite them & keep them stable & overt. Still not necessarily more effective than peaceful resistance but who's to say. Why not both?

unsure how this applies ... the protests are in Canada but I thought we were talking aobut Murica

They are happening in the USA. Also, the USA is the United States, not the Federal govt of America.

this protest brought unity to canada, it brought all the police from coast to coast together as a show of solidarity with ottawa police and cracked some skulls
