China isn't in the same league as the West in terms of their international propaganda. Not even in the same universe. They don't really seem to bother trying to compete but if they did it would take decades to even put a dent in the Western propaganda machine's dominance. Trying to flick established influencers some RMB to cover an issue for either tourism or to defend China against smears is about the best they've come up with so far & it's not even a good plan. Domestic reporting on international affairs is a different story. They both are very different styles but fairly high amount of control. China media's openly state-controlled for the most part & just tells domestic audience what great stuff they're doing around the world, a more fluffy bunny approach that makes China & the party leadership look good. COVID could have been a common enemy but again, the media/political model in West is based around division. It could even have brought countries together but it got politicized at that level too. The science community at least kept on doing their thing outside of politics, mostly.

There's simply no evidence of a lab leak. There's some shit that came out of the State Dept but that's just spin. You should be able to tell based on how much they were grasping at straws with no evidence that there was never anything to it. The "gain of function" stuff is a red herring. There's stuff about the relevant WIV lab research from unbiased professionals around, explaining what they were doing & how it was going (not very successfully).
Of course there's a chance that it did, but there's also a chance that a volcano will explode tomorrow wiping out life on Earth as we know it.

what you've listed there are just coincidences that really aren't so coincidental. Coronaviruses are well-known and a likely source for pandemic. That's why this is Sars-Cov-*2* - SARS was Sars-Cov-1 and was less than 2 decades ago.
Those bats have hundreds or thousands of similar viruses in them that can spread to humans. They're mostly located in Southern China / SEAsia region, that's why the lab was studying them there. It's not like the way you make it sound IMO.

On Chinese (and Koreans). Same ones that the Japs were using on Chinese during WWII - Jap military scientists were in Okinawa helping arm US planes to drop the bioweapon bombs in Korea. It's highly secretive stuff that Congress barely has any insight or say into & the Pentagon has labs all over the world & their budget did go up in the past 10 years. If it came from a lab, I'd be more inclined to believe it was US lab but still think it more likely that it was an accident than deliberate. Deliberate makes no sense for anyone to have done.

well that's your call, they had so many meetings with WHO in those early weeks, the public ones were on youtube to watch. It was an international effort figuring out wtf was going on but in the meantime they had a locked down province & a bunch of sick people to deal with. They'd already shared the sequence within about a week of sampling it so everyone could make their test kits & they gave us all a couple of months to prepare.
Tracing the thing was always likely to take years & wasn't the top priority in those initial months. They should have prepared their airports & gotten ready to deal with the health crisis, not played politics. The origin question is for scientists & it's possibly/probably international.
