Do you get it now?

trouble is people quote science thinking it says something that it doesn't. the studies that people think show masks reduce covid spread are almost exclusively lab experiements involving a single simulated cough or breath, whereas the science that shows masks do not work involve randomized groups with control groups of real people and measuring if people really get sick or not.

sure the science doesn't care what anybody thinks but public policy is based on what people think.

You should wash your hands, and the mask also prevents you from touching your mouth, so it prevents spread and infection, in more way's then just cough, anyway getting my booster shot at 14:00

it doesn't prevent you from touching your mouth, and even if it did that wouldn't matter because covid can infect only via respiratory cells - the R in SARS. to date there has not been a single case of covid infection via food, for this reason. we have much higher peaks in infections than we did before masking was recommended, partly because masks give people a false sense of security and give companies and organisations an out to avoid things like having fewer people (customers and workers) in a space.

How do you know there has not been a single infection via food?

And in belgium we don't wear masks for a few weeks, and every zone turns red again, those mask made it drop to almost 0 we all follow the rules, they take away hand sanitation in stores completely get rid of the mask policy and everything turns red again, your reasoning is based on false facts

Productivity was lost because of the lockdowns, not how fatal it was. It killed off mostly old people, past retirement age. We could have had no lockdowns, no masks mandates, no nothing, and simply kept the elders in quarantine until a vax was created and we'd still have a functional economy and about the same death toll. For everyone below 65 it is just like the flu! The flu kills young and old, some people's bodies just cant handle it and some die. Death happens. If you think we can get control over global warming then the deaths should be a positive for ya!

quarantine is lockdown and that's not really possible without also quarantining aged care workers and all the medical staff that frequently visit the elderly. also you've got the problem of the number of elderly who are not in homes.

it's not just like the flu for everyone under 65 either. less young people have died, but the larger problem is middle-aged deaths because those people left families including young children behind, and also their companies lost their best workers. there's also the problem of expensive intesive care for the millions who got it but didn't die, and ongoing care for even more millions who have long-covid.

when a flu season is severe it causes about 60k deaths in the US in a year, covid is 5x that at 300,000. on top of that, this is only early days - there are many different flu viruses and many different coronaviruses, so far only one of them is covid-19. if covid was to evolve so much that it became a new family of viruses, more than just variants of the same virus, we'd be in big trouble.

Yeah, that was a typo I guess. The pandemic is far from over even for the sensible people.

Also: kudos for watching a potholer video!

Update:

potholer54 actually insists the pandemic is over for the vaccinated. When I challenged him on the missing "not" he responded in a way that due to the minimalised risk of illness and death to the vaccinated his statement stands.

I actually disagree, for me the pandemic is "over for the vaccinated" when I don't have to comply with mask and other rules to "protect the tards".

Yeah I think it's actaully creating a false sense of security.

And thats not even taking into account the economic situation that covid has created. Industries are bottlenecked, material prices have skyrocketed and so have freight prices. Gas prices are up. Was thinking of doing some renovating but prices have doubled or tripled.

what economic situation? the american economy is 3% lower than pre-covid. this last year you would have seen the prices of the housing market increase along with the time required to sell them decreased. you would have also seen the costs of building materials go up and also become scarce. millions of people that were sent home during the economic situation are investing money into homes, buying sports cars, rvs and boats since they've also gone up in price and now are somewhat scarce

If you don't understand why the entire premise of this video is a vile manipulation, then you are a serious threat to yourself and to others.
