Would you have solved this? I'm sure I couldn't. But I am using sudoku app number puzzle king for android, currently in the upper regions of level "hard"

Unlikely. I would have probably realized I made a mistake halfway through which meant everything I did so far is wrong and given up.

this is great, it opens up the harder puzzles for me, I usually give up if I can't do them in the basic way of simple elimination, sometime do trial & error but that sucks as a strat. Cheers.
