It's illegal (without permition) to record military installations/bases and the personel inside, for good reaon.  If you ask me they were overly patient with him.  I'm surprised they let him get away with his phone and sd card.

How do you know it is illegal? Please, do share the statutes.

Could it be that they let him go becuase what he was doing was perfectly legal? Did that occur to you?

Did you even read it for yourself? I dont recall Trump declaring Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall a "vital military and naval installations" site protecting it from photography, did he? Also, do a google search, there are fucking satellite images and google street view for fuck sake. There are no laws saying you cannot take photos of a military base from a publicly accessible area. I have been looking into this shit for the better part of 4 years now, I have looked into military bases specifically when one of these 1st amendment auditors got arrested for doing the same thing this guy did about 3 years ago, that person was released and he sued, case is still pending.

Joint Base Myer–Henderson Hall is a Joint Base of the United States military that is located around Arlington, Virginia which is made up of Fort Myer, Fort McNair, and Henderson Hall. It is the local residue of the Base Realignment and Closure, 2005 process

The word "vital military" in this situation is just a word this apply to most if not all military bases since you don't want enemy to gather information "Intelligence" on things in the Base that is important they can targeted

This also apply to nuclear facilitys

As I said Most military bases in fact own the land up to 100 yards or more from the fence line or have concurrent jurisdiction.

So what, still not a crime, eyes cannot tresspass, if they dont want the public to see the inside of the bases then they need to put up huge walls.

The amount of incompetence in the US police is extraordinary. Same for the the law regarding taking images of military installations (in other countries it is qte clear that it is illegal to do so, case closed). The guy filming is an idiot of the same category of the types parading their "assault rifle style" penis extensions because it's their right.

So why are there google street veiws of and around the base? Why are there sattelite images of the base? Perhaps becuase its not that big of a deal. Dont you think other countries have sattellite images of other countries bases? Im sure they do. Dont be a boot licker! Here in the USA you have a right to film in public, end of story.

OK, just for you:

The amount of incompetence in the US police is extraordinary.

Meaning there is an unusually large amount of incompetent people on the force, way more than in other countries.

Same for the the law regarding taking images of military installations (in other countries it is qte clear that it is illegal to do so, case closed).
Meaning the law appears unclear, in other countries there is no doubt what and where one is allowed to film.

The guy filming is an idiot of the same category of the types parading their "assault rifle style" penis extensions because it's their right.

Meaning: The guy filming is an idiot of the same category of the types parading their "assault rifle style" penis extensions because it's their right. Probably similar to you.
