We just got it out of evidence and now the woman's family that was at fault is trying to get out of paying the 18000$ of damage their daughter did to her car -_-; Living in california is such a pain in the arse.

why would the car be in evidence? cops collect evidence of a crash and who caused it. they don't collect the cars in the crash. tow trucks bring them to a salvage yard unless you specify. did you get the car from a salvage yard?

how it was explained to is Investigators wanted to replicate the event in order to gauge the drivers reaction time on the hill that the accident happened. For them to accurately recreate a dramatization of how long of time it would take a driver in the particlar make and model of my gf's car in its condition to avoid the pedestraian..

if you know what make/model/year, you know how much the car weights. if you know how fast it was going, you know how much distance would be needed to stop.
