For years I now use an 18V makkita drill, which took a lot of abuse and still works better than any I had before, I also have a 36V leaf blower (2 18V batteries) and a mains jigsaw. Any new tool I buy that will take a lot abuse is a good brand.

Makita are the best..only problrm i had was with the battery..left it drained over the winter and it never took a charge again..but the tool itself is the best..they are always the first company to use the latest battery technology

Yeah, I had one battery going duff on me and the other is getting worse too, they have an issue with the packs. Now there are quite a few aftermarket replacements available that are about half the cost or less.

The li-ion batteies should always be stored at about half charge.
