Cute. Why is the dog leashed and on a choke chain?

He's leashed as the sand pile was just back from a walk and the sand pile was in the front yard near the road. He had a tendency to pull on his lead. We tried some other people walking him to triain him not to. Some sites suggested choke chains to help train out lead pulling, which we tried, but it wasn't helpful, so we got a harness, which has helped.

OK, one of the problems you have is your flexi-leash, it engourages leash pulling as there always is a tiny bit of tension on it. Try using it in fixed settings only.
If you want you can try these techniques (no need for the clicker, instead of the click you can give verbal praise followed by a treat), once the behaviour (here: dog does not pull on leash) is established treats are no longer necessary. I recommend that the leash hand also holds on to a piece of clothing like the belt or a trouser pocket so that the handler does not inadvertently manipulate the dog using the leash:
This is a process, don't expect your dog to be able to do it in the street if he just about manages in the backyard!
Also: alhough it is much easier to train the dog walking beside or behind you without pulling the position is NOT important. If you want your dog to walk ahead he may, as long it is on a loose leash (unless he is re-active then of course you want to be in control of the corners). Being in front is NOT the dominant position.
