Tokyo and six other prefectures entered their first weekend under a state of emergency as authorities strengthen calls for people to stay home and shutter nonessential businesses to curb the spread of COVID-19 in Japan.
Japan has been testing on an extremely small scale, opting to keep businesses open & treat the illness rather than try and track the virus. The situation became untenable last week.
