A rare documentary on what goes on exactly in a studio setting to get a recording for a movie/album. This one is a classic because not only did Leonard Bernstein write the music, he's also conducting the orchestra and vocals - which is over 60 people. The players are some of the top studio musicians in the world - still making mistakes. Time frames, pressure, money, sickness, everyone has to be at the top of their game for hours on end regardless.
The music is arguably some of the most technical "musical theatre" music written and has to be played at 100% accuracy or as close as humanly possible to it. Plus you got the guy that wrote it, that's notorious in rehersals, staring you in the face.
