One of the US's top 3 credit-reporting agencies, Equifax, has been hacked. It's estimated 143 million people's personal info (social security, phone number, former and current addresses, date of birth, credit card info) has been compromised. Damn...
Also, it might be worth noting that if you're affected, and you sign up for their free year of credit monitoring, it comes with an arbitration agreement that prevents you from benefitting from any potential class action lawsuit.
