CIA Director Supports Torture

Exchange between Sen. Harris and CIA Director Nominee on torture (C-SPAN)

CIA director nominee Gina Haspel personally supervised torture in a CIA 'black site' in Thailand and destroyed the evidence.

John Kiriakou, the guy who blew the whistle on the torture tape cover-up was sent to prison. [link]

According to Kiriakou and others, Haspel and those around her seemed too enjoy torturing people, even though they knew it's ineffective.

They would figure out what the detainees worst fears are and subject them to it. Eg placing suspects in a box with spiders & more violent 'advanced intrrogation techniques'.

Video is a clip from her confirmation hearing today.

When asked "do you believe torture is immoral?"

Haspel refuses to answer yes & instead references the Army Field Manual - a document that can be updated by the president at any time.

She says she destroyed the torture tapes to protect the officers involved....

I think she's probably the most qualified person for CIA director in quite a while. Blaming her for the "torture" program seems pretty hypocritical since most of the country including many democrats didnt give a fuck after 9/11 whether it was moral or legal.

A career spy who doesnt give a shit about politics but knows how to play them is exactly the person needed to head the CIA.

According to multiple sources she actually enjoys the process of torturing people and would order people to undergo it, knowing it wasn't necessary or effective, just so her and her psycho collegues could have some fun. There is little known about her actual career. It's mostly classified.

Her skills at politics just makes her moral corruption even worse for America.
