I always thought a movie about the squirrels turning on us would be more terrifying than the birds by hitchcock.

Get a cat. We had a cat years ago catch a squirrel, bring it to the back porch, and eat it from it's head, skull and the rest of it's body all the way down only leaving the legs, hips and tail.
