Merkel's relationship with Putin has always been a complicated one, it goes all the way back to the 80's when he was a KGB officer based in East Germany and she was very likely a member of the Stasi (note that she denies this). She is fluent in russian and arguably the driving force behind the oil and gas deals. This Ukraine situation will certainly cast a shade on her legacy.

i don't get how there are times when Trump is talking very coherently, but other times it's totally rambling? maybe this is an issue that he is focused on and has formed his own opinion on. and the times when he doesn't make sense is when he has no idea what to say about the topic, and starts doing stream of conciousness. but otherwise, he was right about this issue.
