We really need to take a look at how citizenship works in America.  I gained my citizenship through absolutely no actions done on my part...I just so happened to fall out of my mother's pussy in northern Indiana.  This is also true of millions of other Americans who then wear that as some sort of badge of honor while they yell at brown people.  When I challenge them upon why they are so prideful of their citizenship despite the fact all they did was get pushed out of a vaginal canal in Detroit they then go into, "I was in the military..." or "I have a full time job..." or "I am apart of my community..."  I then quote Chris Rock at them and I say, "nigga, that's what you're supposed to do.  Whatchyuwannacookie?"

I remember in college, I supported the dream act. It seemed like these kids aren't doing anything wrong, why punish them?

When you look at the totality of the situation, it's much different. In California, you have segregated education now. Some schools can teach classes in Spanish under a new (poorly worded) law that I accidentally supported. "As long as standards remain the same." My ass. If you spend half your time NOT teaching English, how are these kids going to have an equivalent education?

Ok, fine. But then they get lower scores on the SATs. But that's OK, affirmative action kicks in. Especially if you're from an underpriviliged community, oh schools go bonkers for those feel-good stories.

They struggle in college, but that's ok, there's tons of scholarships available to them. Pell Grants. Money originally sidelined for native-born kids are now being re-directed. They even have minorities-only educational enrichment programs that PAY YOU while you do undergraduate research. And if you want to go to some sort of professional school, affirmative action kicks in once again.

They finish graduate school, go into academia, and continue on in a field where they get to 1) proselytize their liberal beliefs or 2) generate "research" on how uncontrolled immigration is good or that conservatism is bad. And they never, ever, want to get rid of affirmative action, because they keep the floodgates open for poor, undocumented workers to reinforce their beliefs.

It's a FUBAR and VICIOUS cycle that repeats.

So in short, I supported DACA without looking at the whole picture. I don't want to separate families. But if citizenship is as arbitrary as popping out of a vagina, is it also as arbritary as crossing an invisible line, and then benefitting from all the spoils of a society?

I agree completely, PizzaBoi.  Citizenship should very much be earned, not doled out to people who are simply born (because 99.9% of the population of the entirety of the planet is born) or cross an invisible line.  Military service, appropriate amount of taxation, and a host of other factors should be considered when citizenship is concerned.  Right now I am a citizen of the United States of America and I haven't done anything special to deserve it.

Well fuck me, that's a damn good point. You're absolutely right, most countries in the world have a 1-3 year mandatory military/civil service. That would do wonders for patriotism and forging a national identity, through mutual struggle. I support this!

Although, be warned, should it ever be implemented, the liberals will go bonkers over "FORCED CONSCRIPTION INTO TRUMP'S NEW FASCIST ARMY"

They may, but I'm a Leftist loony bin and I'm behind it.  It just depends upon how it's framed is all.
