Youtube speed setting is great for things like this. Video loses a star by having a Shapiro rant about "the left".

Agreed on this.  I actually thought this was a fine video but Shapiro's words actually undercut the woman-speaker's words...she criticizes the dichotomy of "you are either an ally or an oppressor" and then Shapiro comes in with Left vs. Right rhetoric.  Still good enough for a 3/5.

When Shapiro tells people to get their shit together it's off-putting for a variety of reasons but I can't really express them precisely. When Peterson does the same it's more like a caring uncle who wants what's best for you. Shapiro is more accusatory in his tone, or something. Hard to put a finger on it.

Shapiro's a snakeoil salesman. Fullauto posted a video recently where he's speaking at a church meeting basically telling them to wage global jihad against commies & Muslims because "JudeoChristian values". His manipulation & recruitment tactics would make Joseph Goebbels blush.

What weirded me about him recently was something he said near the end of his recent conversation with Peterson. He posited this really bizarre hypothesis based on the story of Eden that I didn't really get - I'll see if I can find it here.

Go to 38:15 below - Shapiro puts forth an idea I could not really understand. Peterson either understands what he meant or he's being polite.

Yeah, that sounds like a bunch of mumbo jumbo.  He's taking a creation myth that was created in response to another creation myth and applying real world meaning to it.  The "fruit of the tree of good and evil" is entirely fictional, so you can make it mean whatever you want it to mean...which I guess is what Shapiro is doing there.  To be honest, it's kind of an interesting thought but it's about as relevant as wondering about what Thanos has to say in the new Avengers movie.
