You are very opinionated about slavery without understanding much about it. Let alone understanding that you are still a slave despite the lack of physical chains.
Technology is not black and white and does not always equal good as you will soon find out.
There is also no real proof that 40 years was the average life expectancy, and since no one is alive today from that time it is impossible to determine for certain.
There are plenty that lived to an old age just as well as many who died young to various causes. Just like today.
Even though it is proposed that life expectancy is higher today. Quality of life in many ways is certainly lower. More obesity, more mental illness, weak community, weak family units, More preventable disease such as heart disease, diabetes, Allergies, cancers.

I said nothing about what people should do. That's up to them and the eating choices they decide for themselves.
The fact is people are much unhealthier, and that leads to a poor quality of life. Most of it is preventable based the choices people make. They also have the right to suffer the consequences if they want.
