the video game soundtrack from the early 90's that made the most impression on me at the time was Star Control II. i think most of the tracks were open sourced as a competition on the internet.

Way to firmly place a pillow on the face on a dying site. This new site is bullshit, can't use my old account, everything is deleted and it took like 30 minutes just to make a new one. Sadly I will never be back and I was on the front page for most points.
