Public Transport in Europe and the US

Why Public Transportation Sucks in the US

it's actually cheaper when public transport companies (private or public) run at a loss. the money spent subsidizing public transport gets saved back with lower road maintenance costs and less gasoline subsidies, and everybody who doesn't personally use public transport benefits from the reduced traffic on their roads. even better with people spending less money on transport they have more money to spend at local businesses.

I don't know where the guy has his info from but when generalising "in europe" he got some of his facts wrong. In germany for example the parking requirtement is -like in the US- is a minimum of spaces per unit.
