I thought they showed this to the media (saw it was playing while the leaders weren't in the room during the live feed). If it was aimed at Kim it ought to be in Korean or have subtitles. It's fucking cheesey regardless, purely PR bullshit for public consumption. Nothing diplomatic in there.

Scott Adams disagrees with you most vehemently above. I'm not sure either way - I don't know that Kim is so gullible as to not recognize what it is and what it's designed to do. Like I said before, I think his chief concern is avoidance of becoming the next Gaddafi.

Why is everyone assuming it was played to Kim? I've seen nothing to suggest that it was. Maybe the State Dept or WH has released it telling people it was shown to Kim. Regardless it's not worth analysing IMO. Why don't you analyse the fact that the US destroyed NK & even dropped plague-infested fleas on their villages if you want to start getting into the mind of the NK leadership.

Um, all I can tell you is that Global News is a legitimate and well-respected news organization in Canada and they are reporting that it was shown directly to Kim along with whoever else is saying it. You think Kim is worried the US wants a repeat of 1950s-era destruction of his people, or that he even cares about them? I don't think he cares about them like a normal human being cares about people at all. I think he saw Gaddafi die via ass-bayonet on LITERAL global news. I think he is worried about himself, personally. Consider this - if you were told that the whole world had gotten together and decided that you will die by ass-bayonet tomorrow at noon, and you had a secret nuclear button and just happened to be a psychopath, what do you think you'd do?

According to a transcript of Trump’s press conference following the meeting, the president played the video—either on an iPad or from a cassette tape (?)—for Kim Jong-un and a group of North Korean representatives.

The hilarious part is how the film has a "Destiny Pictures" frame at the beginning. Destiny Pictures is an actual company but the owner of the movie company says they had absolutely nothing to do with the poor quality movie and their company name was slapped on it presumably to give it some air of quality. He said it had the quality of a Scientology production.

When asked about the video, Trump had an interesting disjointed response:

Question: Mr. President, could you tell us about the video that you showed before this?

Trump: Yes.

Question: I mean, did you show that to Kim, what was the focus there?

Trump: Today. Yeah. We had it made up by some — I hope you liked it, I thought it was good, I thought it was interesting enough to show, one in English and one in Korean. And we had it made up — I showed it to him today, actually during the meeting towards the end of the meeting, and I think he loved it, he — and they were given — we didn’t have the big screen like you have the luxury of having, we didn’t need it, because we had it on a cassette and an iPad. And they played it, and about eight of their representatives who were watching it, and I thought they were fascinated by that, I thought it was well done, I showed it to you because that’s the future, I mean, that could very well be the future.

And the other alternative, it’s just not a very good alternative, it’s just not good. But I showed up because I really want him to do something. Now, I don’t think I had to show it, because I really believe he wants to — I think he wants to get it done.

THAT's what I was going to say - it reminded me of a SCIENTOLOGY production. So was that deliberate - did they have a team of psychologists locked in a cell strategizing everything right down to the quality of the production value delivering the message? Or was this done on Trump's 2008 desktop computer by an intern who said the right thing at the right moment? LOLOLOL

Ah okay so apparently it was shown to the NK delegation. That's wierd.

This excerpt is funny:

[Reporters thought this video was North Korea propaganda. It came from the White House.]
