Millenial Burnout

daftcunt's picture

Are millennials "the burnout generation"?

I forgot to add a real condition!

No, really, get over your fucking self you little snowflake cunts.

Anyone who watches this to the end will be quite a bit dumber.

the boomers raised the millenials, so what they are is entirely on them. what they did was made sure they had self esteem, but that was the only goal, not to excel and therefore feel self esteem from having achieved. they raised them to never encounter any adverse situations and so never experienced how to deal with adversity or the stress that comes of it.

next they placed the same standards that were placed on themselves in the workforce, to work hard, move out of their parents home etc, but then removed every single one of the helping hands they themselves enjoyed. boomers got regular raises but refuse to give them to their millenial employees. boomers got regular promotions but refuse to give them to their millenial employees, keeping them from progressing up the company ladder and instead hiring from outside to fill upper positions. boomers got free training at work, subsidized loans from their companies, company apartments rent free for singles, and not only weren't expected to goto college but weren't expected to work any probation periods or internships before being fully paid, but every single one of those benefits was removed by the bommers managing the companies as millennials have entered the workforce.

who the fuck wouldn't be depressed all the time when that giant load of shit is dumped on them by selfish assholes who won't even pass on the benefits they enjoyed let alone trying to improve on it?

All of the problems of the older generations plus whatever new ones we have. That is what causes stress to everybody these days.

We haven't solved ANY of the problems of the older generations. Not fully. There's still an overpopulation problem, a pollution problem, nuclear weapon proliferation and many others like cured diseases still being a thing. And the west is at a constant war with pretty much everyone that isn't a NATO member or ally to one of the memberstates.  None of which is helped by the fact that as a 'free' society we in the west have very little to offer in the way of unifying goals or purposes.

Sure we are doing things about all of the problems. The UN says the overpopulation problem will be more or less solved by 2100 and technological progress promises many solutions to the other problems and the conflicts that we have are less violent than before. But these are all vague stressfull things outside of us and our daily affairs and with the lack of a unifying purpose there is only the daily ho-hum of breadmaking with little hope of a bright future. Just a tired acceptance of more of the same, day after day. Decade after decade. Even the hope of personal progress is being slowly eroded as the markets and workplaces change according to progress.

"None of which is helped by the fact that as a 'free' society we in the west have very little to offer in the way of unifying goals or purposes."

Reminded me of this Joe Rogan clip.

As horrific as war is, it gave people a purpose that we so desperately need.

@6:35. The whole clip is actually relevant to this.
