Interviewing civilians like this is the same as interviewing the pows. You really expect them to give you their honest opinions when there are armed men walking around that would kill you if you talked shit about them? These are captive civilians imo. They will say whatever gets them safer, just like the pows. Are you that dumb to believe this or do you think we are that dumb?

Having an occupying force take over your town, foreign troops walking around behind you with rifles while giving an interview on camera, yet you use this as evidence. How is this not the same as a pow giving an interview?

a POW is a prisoner & is incentivized to tell his captors what they wanna hear or at least not say stuff that could make him face repercussions. Potentially he could be warned beforehand about what to say or even ordered to memorize a script.
this guy is posting raw stuff that you can judge for yourself how freely they are allowed to speak. He's like a 2-man outfit by the looks, possibly just himself & someone from DPR militia who he's embedded with holding the camera.
if you understand the background of Donbass you shouldn't be surprised people do view the DPR militia as liberators & the Nazi thugs as oppressive cunts. That's what's happened there, the DPR forces were the ones who lost this town to the natoinalists in 2014-2015 civil strife. Locals there are more pro-Russia than pro-Ukraine so with this backdrop plus the militarization of their neighbourhoods & other shit tactics I won't go into, it's not surprising there's plenty of people cussing them out the Ukr nats for what they've done.
Patrick has lived in Donetsk since 2014 & so is likely a bit biased himself (sometimes it comes through in questions he asks, fishing for evidence of Ukr nat wrong-doing) & it's possible he's not showing interviews where people cuss out the pro-Russian forces. There is one in the above video where the kid & mother are quite balanced & even pro-Ukraine nationalist & some others like that too in other videos, which he publishes so that gives him some legitemacy as ethical an ethical journo. I don't know what the ratio is but I don't think these people are being coerced in what they're saying.
This is just an indie journo, it's really not as sophisticated as you're trying to imply IMO. Just based on the assumption of men with guns I don't think cuts it when compared to the way they're expressing themselves & what they're saying. They're obviously pissed off & they're not professional actors. You can't get this passion from people who are scared what to say. Scared people would be far more tight-lipped. I've seen coerced POW interviews before & it's quite obvious they're uncomfortable.
besides "there's men with guns intimidating them" (which I don't buy) do you have any other reasons for doubting what these people are saying?

seems you're a little bit lost on how to go about parsing this material
look into the background of patrick lancaster, what he's been up to etc, get a feel for his content to work out the kind of stuff he shows & his capabilities - see if you can find any reason to doubt what he says by cross-referencing with other info (stay away from western corporate media for the love of god)
research mariupol/ukraine, which isn't exactly easy since you live in the west & are flooded with misleading propaganda
putting this on par with POW videos (which ones? some are sketchy af) is too vague for me to consider that as a very smart approach
use your own judgement & reasoning on the what these people are saying - do they look scared to speak freely or no?
