Loki - Slow, Tedious and Badly Written

The Critical Drinker's review of the Loki TV series...

It's fair to say he didn't drink the Woke flavor Cool-Aid Marvel keeps serving up in any case.

You're absolutely right! Though it's possible growing up asgardian left him smaller than most ice giants. He's never manifested his larger size when this would have been an advantage eg. when under arrest or even when fighting hulk.

the first thor movie explained it. he's an unsually small frost giant. as thor said i think. what we call magic they consider science. odin made him look like an asgardian. and you can't use "powers" in the tva universe, cause its not part of the main universe and it would make sense that they would nerf peoples strength. they wouldnt be able to take on a hulk loki like the showed for a brief glimpse in one of the episodes

He pretty much nailed it. I also felt the season could've been much longer with stories taking time to tease out but instead they just gave it up early on. They/ve destroyed Loki as a character.

Yup. It's a good thing Loki 1.0 isn't alive to see this, lols.

Disagree pretty strongly with the take here. Loki as a super villain was played out and finished. To continue the character something new had to happen and the examination of his sociopathy and partial redemption was precisely what was needed. Everything in the series transpired exactly as I hoped it would and there were a few surprises along the way. This has been the best marvel Disney plus series so far. The only one that has stuck the landing.

I'd concede the point that I've enjoyed what I've seen so far, but this is only a surface examination on my part.  Leave it to Drinker, a published author who's enjoyed a modest degree of success, to point out some of the glaring flaws here.  Enjoyed the bit about body-positive henchwoman.  In reality, I'm pretty sure you'd just need to outrun her for a little bit to end the chase. And I didn't even realize I'm just getting used to this sort of..what.. indoctrination? I mean, the men on the show are imbeciles for the most part.  We all have mothers, sisters, daughters, whatever, that we love and want the best for. Are we preparing the younger ones for the real world by giving them this skewed representation of reality? I'm seeing more and more videos online of girls laid out by a right cross after they went on a physical offensive against a much bigger male classmate..and I don't like what it suggests of their expectations/view of reality.

Every major character inside character in the show including those who seem like one dimensional presentations upon introduction experience a satisfying character Arc focusing on Discovery and repentance based on an understanding of the importance of actual truth. The body positive Hench woman actually looks like a woman that could kick my ass which is something that should be the case when you have a character with that level of physical authority. She's real and she's three-dimensional and the actress actually gave a great performance especially her Epiphany scene.
