The Equality Paradox

Jordan Peterson Explains the Gender Paradox - Joe Rogan

This was way more interesting than I was expecting and I ended up watching the full half hour.

tl;dw version: the more egalitarian a society becomes, the more pronounced differences between men and women become.

I am not a fan of rogan or peterson, so I reeeeaaalllllyyyy don't want to watch this.

2 questions: Egalitarian in which sense?
According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the term has two distinct definitions in modern English,[5] namely either as a political doctrine that all people should be treated as equals and have the same politicaleconomicsocial and civil rights,[6] or as a social philosophy advocating the removal of economic inequalities among peopleeconomic egalitarianism, or the decentralization of power. Some sources define egalitarianism as the point of view that equality reflects the natural state of humanity.

I assume it is the former...

So what is the conclusion? People should not be treated the same and have the same rights?

Egalitarian in my book does not mean we should not recognise the differences, what we shouldn't do is discriminate or favour because of a label (man or woman in this case)

Everyone sane agrees with that. What the identitarians try to jam in is the idea that all groups, whatever they are (ever expanding) should receive equal benefits, regardless of their perceived capabilities, and that's just fucking insane.

I assume this is a thing in the US/Canada. In Europe they try to inforce something like women's quota but this will be demolished in the long run so I can't see the hype.

For me it is way more important to abolish thinking like "you are a woman/man, you can't do certain jobs" as this is a bodge. If a certain physical fitness and education is required one shall be tested for the requirements, if one succeeds one can have the job if one does not one can't. Of course these requirements must be universal (gender, race etc is irrelevant) so if 80% of man/women fail it is not sexist. What german police does to select officers actually is btw.
