Man arrested in connection with wife's death now accused of voting with her 2020 ballot, court docum

republicans be complaining about dead people voting. they don't mean stuff like this because the dead person voted for trump. what they usually mean is people that mail in a vote and then died before the election. but any reason to stop people from being able to vote will do

what they mean is exactly what they said - when a person dies and social security is notified, as well as their social security payments ending and various other procedures such as license revocations, a will being opened, etc, the relevant boards of elections would also be notified so that ballots are not issued in the name of dead people.

there's nothing at all partisan about it. nobody is saying only deal republicans or only dead democrats should be removed, the plan is just that voting be added to the list of many things that happen when somebody dies. i mean it's weird not to do that already, right?

do dead people vote? the obvious answer is no. so you can either send a ballot to a dead person that doesnt vote or you can not send a ballot to someone who got marked off as dead even though they are alive. its deffinately a partisan thing. its like when i asked you a few times about republican states that changed the same election rules democratic ones did. you don't know any but you can rhyme off the 6 democratic ones. thats not a fluke

I don't understand the hype about this.

Introduce mandatory ID like in the developed world and problem solved.

I don't know the reason why they don't communicate the death of a person to the election board but I am sure there is a valid reason, also I can't see the numbers being important as only VERY FEW cases (and most of them in favour of trump actually) of dead people voting were found.

It's a third world contry fighting about who gets to wote.

On a second note, ID cards are not easy and are easily expolited. We been working on a secure one for 20 years... can't be done. Passports and Driver lisensenses are solid as they come from eyes on police officers who have access to most of your history.

It's a legal thing... I understand half of it.... still, can't make it work. I just know that the id's of the 1990's where abuses as fuck.

Theoreticly they can make an id card, but .. it would have to go through the police, we don't want that..... that's 20 year undertaking.

A solid peoples ID is hard as fuck... without the involment of the police.

PS: Clearly other nova.... been having a few, muscle memory ctrl-enter when it comes to paragraps.

You are in the UK, right?

There is huge resistance because people (those that share everything on facebook and have smartphones with GPS turned on all the time) feel they are controlled. This is complete bullshit.

Of course there is no "perfect" ID card, everything can be falsified somehow, still it is WAY better than nothing. I was in the UK when the tories tried to implement one and (having worked in the railway) I know how beaurocracy works over there, they set themselves up to fail (probably on purpouse) as what they wanted to implement was ay too complex and expensive.

In Germany and Spain we have had ID cards for donkeys years, great system, little cost.
