She is guilty of murder no doubt about that.

Bullshit, if anything she is guilty of negligent homicide - a criminal charge brought against a person who, through criminal negligence, allows another person to die.

Her decision to discharge her firearm at a target she could not clearly identify in a darkened room was negligent owing to her failing to take proper care in doing something; in this case it would be her NOT knowing she was at the wrong door and her choice NOT to retreat when she clearly had the opprotunity.

The thing is, nobody believes that she thought she was in her apartment, not to mention she had previously feuded with the guy. She's also already been caught in several lies about the incident. There's been tons of coverage on it here in Dallas. My bet is she's going away for a lonnnng time.

Her apartment is directly above his in a building where the floors are designed identically.  If you don't believe that could confuse someone who wasn't paying attention then you're lying.

Feuded with the guy?  OK, but was there any reason to believe she was fueding with the guy on the night in question?  Is there any reason to believe the disagreement was so intense that she would risk a murder charge by shooting him?  I highly doubt it.

No doubt she fucked up, but the idea this was anything other than a fuck-up is simply fueled by people's racial hangups.

Actually an established feud plays into the scenario that she thought she was in her apartment. She thought she was in her apartment - she was drunk or something wasn't she? - and a dude she had been feuding with is suddenly in her apartment. She draws and fires - oops she's in the wrong apartment. She begins lying in a desperate attempt to salvage the situation - that's where her character flaws materialize and where the murder charge comes in. The prosecutor will argue that her lies were  designed to cover up intent or something like that. She probably was just drunk and not supposed to be a police officer - but there's a dead dude and all he did was live beneath an alcoholic flat foot.

I dont know the American lawbook out my head, but in Belgium you can't shoot a burglar unless it is self defence, or you are going away for murder, she stepped into someone elses appartement and shot him without asking questions
