Are the ranges he's proposing for a Fiat/toy car? What if your car is..car-sized? I'm more interested in charging speed, meaning if we'll have to start factoring in a stop/charging break..or 2 if you take a weekend 3hr drive to and from the country.

These "toy cars" are used a lot all throughout Europe for commuting, my wife could go to work in one of those converted cars the whole week and only charge it on the weekend.

These conversions, as the inventor clearly states in the video, are not designed for you to travel (that is why I do not have an electric van atm as I would need about 250-300km autonomy to be comfortable) long distances but just to commute or do the shopping or take the kids to school or the dog to the vet.

Home chargers are 7kW, others are quicker, so you can do the math yourself.

I am actually thinking of buying a pick up and converting it, For me they are perfect, the motots can be connected directly to the axles and there is plenty of room underneath for batteries. Unfortunatley here in Spain it is virtually impossible to register something like this, allthe companies that tried to do such a scheme disappeared.

hmm. someone will need to get greased for sure to help make certifications happen. here in eastern Canada we've got access to clean hydro-electric power, but you can bet that there will be a 'correction' to rates after we've all converted. the same also occurred to solar-power rates in the western US, jacking the monthly price to 'pre-conversion' levels after many folks decided to opt for this clean energy. sad really.
