Bannon pardoned...

President Donald Trump pardons former chief strategist Steve Bannon

... but not the capitol protestors. So, many always knew where the real allies are and that plebs are not cared about and can be discarded. Sorry "Pardon Lady".

There are several reasons for retrospective impeachment but this ONE makes the whole thing more urgent if you ask me.

A very fair point, Daf, but some say that Biden can't have Trump's trial(s) and the protests that could follow, cast a shadow over the new presidency. It's possible Trump will be offered a pardon by Biden, in exchange for Trump not running again and the country moving on.

Well, it would have to be a big leap for the american justice system and general public thinking to pardon a person like this and believe that people are inherently good (I do but I think there are exceptions). A treaty like this would look weak to me, like he were to fear Trump running again. I wouldn't even consider it tbh.

The reason for impeachment for me would be to undo some of trumps last minute "snowflakey insulted" actions, let him run again if he must, he would have to do it as an independant if the majority of republicans have some sort of spine after all.

United States Constitution- "The President, Vice President and all Civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors."

I dont think "retrospective impeachment" is a thing, you cant remove someone from office if they are not in office! The way it has been weaponized, I dont want it to become a thing either. Imagine how much of a power shift that would have? The Congress can just threaten the POTUS to play with them, pass their budgets, or else face impeachment AFTER they leave office and get their team voted in. I thought the Dems wiped their asses with the COTUS the first time they impeached Trump, weaponizing and abusing the power to impeach, I certainly dont want them to have more power to abuse the impeachment process. 3 seperate but equal branches of the government! Imagine if we got a progressive in the POTUS that wanted to give medicare for all and the dems and repubs threaten to impeach if they dont back down? See how that can backfire?

Trump let sHillary off, what ever happened to "lock her up"? After that a person shouldnt have expected much different.

"Trump let sHillary off, what ever happened to "lock her up"?"

Exactly, what happened? Nothing. Why? Because there was no substance to it. If trump could have done something he would have..... If there would have been sufficient evidence to lock her up she would be.

Simple really.

Clinton wiped her email servers and destroyed her staffs and her own cellphone with hammers to stop the contents from being given to Congress, with a subpoena, how is that "nothing"? She violated the open government and open records laws, on top of obstruction and lying about it. How many of Trumps people got sent to prison for obstruction and lying? Wasnt that one of the charging points they laid against Trump to impeach him? And why cant they have done that to sHillary? Hear nothing, see nothing, right? Dumbass! Its all politics, Trump needed the DOJ and the Congress to charge her and they didnt have the political will power to do it. But instead of Trump calling them out on it he capitulated and said he will not charge her. Maybe it was an ego thing on his part, he couldnt admit he didnt have the sway he needed to go after her, but he didnt need to give up on it all together since it was his platform he ran on. But to say there was nothing there to charge her is just burying your head in the sand and selectively choosing to ignore and/or rewrite history.

Yeah, I need to "wake up" too right?

It doesn't matter how you try to justify your babble:

trumpt did NOT "let her off" from the goodness of his heart but because he was unable to prosecute.

You should really stop sweettalking that shit to yourself.

Btw, saying "wake up" is reserved for those who are asleep, not those who are stupid, dumb, or just plain willfully ignorant.

Trump 'letting' Hillary off is addressed nicely above. Time to step off that particular merry-go-round folks. As for NOT pulling the trigger on impeachment proceedings out of fear the motivation is called into question, that ship has already sailed (ie if a sweet twenty-something offering to suck your dick after a long and hard day is impeccable).  Like everyone I'm curious as to how this plays out as some important precedents are being set.

I'll have to rely on your succinct summary above, stokkebye. I'm not gonna waste my time reading congressionally mandated fantasy soft porn littérature rose drafted by Ken Starr (sounds like a porn name)... The best parts are probably redacted anyway.
