I remember as an undergrad, I was taking a philosophy class (required) and media influence came up. Basically, there was your typical right vs. left bias argument that you would expect. I raised my hand and said something along the lines of, "but what about corporation bias? Like what if the same company owns both of those networks? Then they could just lay the narrative according to their own values." 

Everyone laughed at me and said that was bullshit, and the teacher actually begrudgingly agreed with me. One person in the class was like, "wait... really?!"
