everytime is see people jump in shit like that I think of that bacterial that swims up your peehole and you gotta cut it off to live.
Not city boys, just personal dick lovers
or the brain eating ameoba , like 5 people in louisana have died from brain eating ameoba last year
naegleria fowleri
Wrong. 1. It's a fish commonly known as candiru. Fish = bacteria? Don't think so. 2. Country/Region: United States They are only found in the amazon river and orinoco river. Just to make things easier, these rivers are located in South America. United States is found in North America.
You are welcome.
wasnt being serious by the way
Educational post...now you know and can own your friends on the topic.
the color you see is tannins from plants, it does not mean it is dirty
My aunt got dysentary from a natural pool, which I found out is lukewarm stagnant water that you have to pay to sit in. JEEEEZZZZZZZUUUUUUSSSSSS.
This is cool, but just hope that there are no skin burrowing amoebas.
yummmm animal shit and piss
This is pretty awesome! No more chlorine in your eyes.
If I'd had the space I would've build one.
it sounds pretty good, smart to use a pump (it can't be a filter like he said since he also said a frog can pass thru) to keep the water circulating. i wonder if the plants will be able to remove enough nutrients though... i'd be interested to see it again in 2 years to see how much algae has built up (if any), and in any case i'd still predict loads of mosquitoes and their larvae.
If you don't consider all the chemical we reject through waters, plants can keep the water pretty clean. Else how would animals survive? So I do think it's possible to keep it very clean without the use of chemicals and only with plants. It will surely get a bit dirtier than it is right now, but I don't think it will be that much.
the chemical we reject through waters? typo?
animals survive because the water flows and is always refreshed. as soon as a stream gets clogged up with silt or the flow is otherwise reduced, everything starts dying and it smells terrible.
Mosquitos generally lay eggs in stagnant water. This water is circulating. Also considering the vegetation in and around the pond, there could be dragonflies, which are mosquito predators.
u think it's circulating enough? good point on the dragonflies though.
To be honest, I don't know if it is circulating enough. I would hazard, however, that the guy who built it probably knows what he is doing and took mosquitos into account.
my guess would be that a frog could pass through the pump system that cycles the water and the filter is a seperate line. At one of the pools I worked at they had 2 systems, one for the filter and one to cycle water.
Mosquitoes would be minimal if they had flowing water(from the pump) and frogs ect to eat them.
There's no way I'm opening my eyes.
I was in Mexico and swam in a cenote (sinkhole with water in the bottom). It didn't have any of the gadgetry shown in the video but it was clean and still a lot of fun.
And you get to swim with the fishies :)
wait, you were in Mexico and you swam in the water? that's like banging a hooker without a condom, in the dark, whom also has a deep voice and a strange extra appendage in the nether regions..
i masturbated to this comment
No it isn't, it's like swimming in water. You gringos are afraid of some weird shit.
Yay mosquito breeding ground
Do you not read the comments ?
Sorry, I didnt realize that reading every comment was a prerequisite to posting.
No, it isn't. But it helps to not look like a fucking idiot.
I reserve the right to look like a fucking idiot whenever I damn well please
Why would you think I want to take that away from you?
Be my guest!
I dare you guys to go in it at night and swim down to the bottom for a few seconds.
I only swim in lakes (usually dug out by people for the sand). Fishes, birds and humans probably piss, shit and vomit in it. The water is tested regularly and is perfectly safe to swim in. Feel much better swimming in that than in a big tub of chlorine.
Beautiful.
For all you nature-phobes, you're already a walking motel for a shit load of scary virus's, bacteria and microbes.
Not to mention a vessel of urban toxins and carcinogens that would make a leech puke.
this is a called a pond and when i was 8 its was a swimming pool
I grew up swimming in rivers and creeks, but I never liked still bodies of water, especially ones as small as this. Keep the water moving.
Still not sold on the mosquito bit - I know plenty of man made ponds with pumps that get infested, I think there is a difference between flowing and just circulating. The water on the edges of the pond were more than still enough to support the laying of eggs.
As far as having dragonflies / frogs / ect around to eat them just remember not all areas (namely the colder ones) can support all the critters you would like to have around.
Still very cool, thanks for the upload.
You put small fish in there to eat the mosquito eggs.
I was gonna say that, I wouldn't mind a few fish looking at me swimming... as long as they pay their dues and eat all the god damn mosquitos.
hey fish! if I see one more mosquito egg its going to be in the frying pan for you....don't think I won't batter your sorry ass.
